Key takeaways from the NHF Finance Conference 2025

The NHF Finance Conference once again brought together key players in social housing finance to explore the latest advancements in payment security, technology, and automation. From tackling fraud and rent arrears to showcasing new solutions, the event provided an opportunity for the wider allpay team to be able to collaborate and listen to forward-thinking discussions from several of our existing clients and partners. It was the perfect opportunity to be able to contribute, connect, and demonstrate a product roadmap shaping the future of payments in the sector and helping position allpay for its next phase of growth and innovation.

Here are our key takeaways from the event:

Payment security and fraud prevention is a growing concern

For us, a highlight of the conference was our speaker session on payment security and fraud prevention, led by our Director of Compliance and Regulation, Victoria Preece who was joined by Eckoh’s Business Development Manager for Strategic Partnerships, Simon Shepherd.

The session highlighted the escalating threats in digital transactions within the social housing sector and emphasised the necessity for robust security measures. With insights into the importance of robust security measures and how solutions like Callpay with the addition of Call Masking can help organisations safeguard their tenants when making payments, ensuring PCI DSS compliance, and reducing fraud risks.

The role of technology in tackling rent arrears

Both former and current tenant rent arrears continue to be a major challenge for social housing providers. At the conference, we caught up with Gary Haynes, Managing Director of Voicescape, as we lifted the lid on how automation and digital tools are transforming rent collection with a number of incredible case studies available for inflight projects from allpay’s Pay-By-Link solution and Voicescapes Collections product.

Joined by Liam Jones, Manager of Client Development at allpay, we discussed how technology can improve financial resilience by streamlining income collection, enhancing tenant communication, and reducing arrears through AI-driven solutions.

Live product demos

Our team also had the opportunity to showcase the latest iteration of our product roadmap through live demonstrations at the conference. These sessions allowed us to present upcoming features and gather real-time feedback from attendees.

The discussions that followed provide us with the valuable insights to continue to refine and optimise our solutions in alignment with sector needs both now and in the future. If you missed out on a demo, our team are on hand to share our roadmap with you today. Book your session here.

Networking and insights

Beyond the formal sessions, the conference also gives us the perfect networking opportunities, thank you to everyone who joined our Sales and Marketing Director, Matt Marskell and our wider team on the stand for the end of the first day.

The NHF Finance Conference 2025 continued to provide the platform to highlight the critical role of technological innovation in revolutionising payment systems within social housing. The conversations and connections made during the event will undoubtedly influence our strategies and contribute to advancing secure and efficient payment solutions in the sector. Thank you to all who joined us at what was a great event in Liverpool.
