allpay, a leading UK payment solutions provider, is pleased to announce a new strategic partnership with PAYA Group, a renowned card processing company, to support secure and efficient cash-handling solutions to the charity sector.
This partnership will help to tackle one of the biggest challenges faced by charities today – the complexities of handling cash donations. With a growing number of high street banks closing, charities often struggle with securely transporting and depositing cash from fundraising activities.
To tackle these challenges, PAYA Group have launched Toucan Cash. It is a service within the Toucan Collect app, which incorporates the allpay solution to offer a streamlined way for charities to deposit cash. The combined technologies enable fundraisers to visit a wide network of Post Office, Payzone, and PayPoint locations to quickly and securely deposit funds, reducing the risks and time associated with manual cash handling.
A perfect fit for the charity sector
PAYA Group, well known as the ‘go to’ provider of contactless donation solutions, already serves thousands of charities, including the Royal British Legion (RBL), Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI), and Marie Curie. With the charity sector still heavily reliant on cash donations, with an estimated £96 billion raised annually, the challenges of transporting and securely depositing cash remain, particularly with the decline of traditional banking services. This is where PAYA Group and allpay’s expertise comes in.
Toucan Cash incorporates allpay’s solution to provide charities with the ability to deposit cash securely and efficiently, using a barcode system that tracks each transaction at a granular campaign, location or fundraiser level. Charities benefit from a solution which makes depositing cash simple, provides full electronic tracking and visibility of funds and supports easy reconciliation. This approach significantly reduces the administrative burden, improves cash flow management, and enhances cash handling security for charities across the UK.
Charities can begin using Toucan Cash by signing up through this link https://www.payacharity.com/products/toucan-cash and downloading the Toucan Collect app from the app store and google play store.
How the solution works
To get started, charities need only complete a simple application and are allocated a unique allpay client code. Fundraisers and staff download the Toucan Collect App and are guided to their nearest network location. The App uses a campaign specific barcode to use when depositing the cash, records the amount deposited and optionally captures the receipt. Funds deposited across all network locations are combined and settled by allpay directly to the charity.
