Job description

This is an exciting opportunity to join a forward-thinking company who are embarking on a vast data transformation programme and as a result, are building out a new data management team.   

The role will see you building a brand-new data team from the ground-up, utilising the latest Microsoft technologies and Cloud Computing technologies. We would like to hire someone with demonstrable leadership skills, building and managing high performing data teams.

We are looking for a tech-savvy, innovative, driven individual to take accountability for the development, management and opportunities held within our data and you should be able to influence our products and services, our clients and customers experiences and embedding a culture of effective data management and usage.

Primary areas of accountability:

As the leader of this function, you need to be both technical and commercially driven and have a strong focus on practical & pragmatic use of data.

Within this role, you will be advancing the companies data and technological capabilities. The role will establish a plan during a period of accelerated change. Cross-functional relationship building will be essential along with strong leadership of the function. You will be tasked with building an iterative plan to work towards, ensuring collaboration and communication.

You will facilitate the continuous improvement of business data usage applying appropriate methodologies and technologies.

Key skills required:

You’ll demonstrate to us that you have:

  • Native transact or MS-SQL language.
  • Experience of setting up and on-going maintenance of a Data Warehouse function / Big Data.
  • A strong understanding of general DB concepts such as stored procedures, joins, views, indexes, triggers, etc.
  • Experience in either Oracle 11g+, or MS-SQL Server 2012+.
