allpay Dosh provides users with the ease of paying for their meals without cash changing hands, either at the till or within the premises. This means faster transaction processing for you and reduced queuing time for them, whilst at the same time removing the potential for losing money. How it works...

All students or members of staff using the system will have their finger scanned. This scan will be converted into a unique identification number and stored on the system against that individual. No register of fingerprints is kept and it is impossible to reconstitute a fingerprint from the numeric reference. For individuals not wishing to use the biometric aspect of the system, a payment card will be issued.

All users will then be allocated an account, much like a bank account and issued with a swipecard. The swipecard gives reference details to allow users to load their own or child’s account by making a payment, 24/7, free of charge using a debit card via allpay’s internet payments and telephone payments services. If users do not wish to pay with a debit card they can also load their own or child’s account over the counter in cash at their nearest outlets, Post Office® or PayPoint.

The swipecard itself has no monetary value. It will simply be swiped and handed back to the user. The payment will then be processed electronically and the user will be given a receipt as proof of payment, this should be kept safe for records. The account will usually be credited within 1 working day.

 Account information...

All account information, including individual cash balances, monies spent and loaded on to the account, is held securely. The swipecard is an identifier – if a user loses their card, their money is safe, and a replacement card can be issued.

When it comes to paying for goods a finger is all that is needed. A scan of the finger at the counter using a biometric fingerprint reader identifies an account and processes the payment.
