Apprentice case study - Alex Smythe
Why did you go down the apprenticeship route?
– From fairly early on I knew that university was not something that I would like to pursue so after completing my A levels I sought after an alternative. I was always interested in working in a legal environment and allpay were offering an apprenticeship in Corporate Governance (Contracts, Legal and Tenders) and this was when I was sure that this was the route that I would like to take.
Top tips for apprenticeship success?
- It is important to practise all of the things that you have learnt from your training in your workplace and on a day-to-day basis so that there is consistent improvement throughout the course.
- Make sure that tasks are completed on time and if possible complete as much as you can early on in the course.
What kind of opportunities have opened up?
The opportunity to develop personally, meet other like-minded people and build a successful career.
