Apprentice case study - Teejay Townsend
Why did you choose to go down the apprenticeship route?
I chose to go down the apprenticeship route as this was a sure way to get on the job experience with a high possibility of employment at the end of it. It was also an opportunity to earn whilst I learnt, which was an important factor for me due to my financial situation at the time.
What are your top tips for apprenticeship success?
Go above and beyond with every chance you get. Learn everything you can, even if it is not role specific as in the long run, the information you learn will become a valuable asset which will in turn help you develop in your personal career.
What kind of opportunities have opened up for you on your apprenticeship programme so far?
Since becoming an apprentice at allpay, I became a full time member of staff for the Pre-Press department. This role further helped me develop myself with the ongoing assistance of the allpay staff members. I am now a member of the Implementation Team which I moved to middle of 2015. This new position is providing me with a new set of skills which will help me with my future ambitions.
