"Apprenticeships give you the chance to experience the role and gain further skills whilst completing day to day tasks. I also learn more by completing the tasks by sat in a classroom at college writing down notes."

"Gaining significant qualifications whilst contributing to a local companies success was a major incentive in comparison to the alternative University route. The ability to be paid for the work that I was producing gave a real-sense of reward as an individual, which showed when I was awarded with apprentice of the year in 2016."
"Winning apprentice of the year! This was completely unexpected and actually surprisingly overwhelming having such positive feedback and appreciation of the hard work I had put into my apprenticeship to complete it with flying colours. Definitely makes the whole experience worth it!"
"Winning employee of the month was memorable; I felt noticed for my work. It highlighted that the work I have been doing had a positive effect on others, which is great!"

"I believed that University wasn’t for me. Also getting into a normal job straight from college with no experience is very hard."
"There are so many positives for apprenticeships and one of the greatest positives (compared to university) is you don’t get the large amount of debt to pay off!"
"An apprenticeship for me has been a great way of making the transition from full time education to employment. It has enabled me to gain a wealth of knowledge and experience whilst earning academic qualifications."

"I have had loads of opportunities as an apprentice that I would never have had the chance to do before. Simple things like learning and earning are a real bonus."

"I chose the apprenticeship route because it gave me experience in the workplace, money, qualifications, I wasn’t left with a heap of debt, and I had a good chance of getting a job at the end in a company I was already familiar with. Seems like an obvious choice."
