allpay storms Prepaid awards
Payments specialist takes home two winning gongs and a runner-up award at Prepaid365 Awards 2015
Payments innovator allpay has cemented its position as one of the UK’s leading prepaid specialists after scooping awards for programme management and card design at this year’s Prepaid365 industry awards.
An independent panel of industry professionals named allpay Best B2B Prepaid Card Provider in the Large Programmes category, while its role in manufacturing PSI-Pay’s eye-catching ecoCard caught the public’s imagination, scooping Best Prepaid Card Design. The company was also highly commended for its prepaid citizen card collaboration with Bracknell Forest Council, finishing runner up in the Prepaid Innovation category.
This year’s awards received 157 entries across 30 categories, with more than 1 million members of the public casting their votes in the consumer categories.
In the consumer categories, the environmentally-friendly ecoCard attracted 70% of the public vote, while allpay’s collaboration with Bracknell Forest Council on the e+ Citizen Card was lauded for having ”enhanced consumer experience.”
Now running prepaid programmes and manufacturing cards for some of the UK’s biggest banks, charities, local and central government departments, allpay offers organisations a complete and customised prepaid platform.
Kevin McAdam, Prepaid Director at allpay, said: "Being recognised by the Prepaid365 Awards cements allpay's position as one of the UK's leading prepaid card suppliers.
On being awarded Best B2B Prepaid Card Provider, McAdam said local authorities had a very tight timescale from government to implement new emergency payment schemes, and allpay “was delighted to be able to develop a solution that has not only reduced administration and cash handling costs, but has accelerated the provision of funds to those in financial crisis”.
He added: "Additionally, the new platform we are currently implementing across local authorities and clinical commissioning groups across the UK adds further cutting edge functionality, providing service users with bank account lite features, allowing them to receive their salaries and care payments onto their prepaid card and make bill payments via direct debits and bank transfers.
Amit Sharma, CEO and Senior Prepaid Consultant at Prepaid365, said: “allpay has pioneered the use of prepaid cards across the private and public sectors, delivering disbursement solutions to local authorities, housing associations, charities and banks with more than 30 local authorities coming on board over the last 12 months alone to benefit from these solutions. With numerous award nominations and wins from those resulting programmes, this recognition from the judges is well deserved.”
Amit Sharma, CEO and Senior Prepaid Consultant at Prepaid365, the UK’s Prepaid Card Portal on “Best Prepaid Card Design”:
“PSI-Pay’s ecoCard prepaid card design is a reflection of their business; designed to stand out in a crowded and competitive market but mirroring the brand values of the ecoCard proposition - simplicity, transparency, efficiency and environmentally friendly. The design has obviously resonated with consumers with over 70% voting for the ecoCard as their favourite design; a resounding triumph.
Phil Davies, Managing Director of PSI-Pay
“Unlike a lot of awards, the Prepaid365 Awards are consumer voted which matters even more to us – it shows that we've produced something that our wonderful customers find attractive and unique. We would also like to thank allpay for working with us to deliver a prepaid card to our customers that strongly represents our brand and core values.”
Marshall Haldane, Director of allpay Card Services on “Best Prepaid Card Design”
“The success of winning this award is a testament to the hard work and creativeness of both the PSI-Pay team and the card services team at allpay. It was a pleasure to work with PSI-Pay on the ecoCard project and to assist them in a positive way in the rebranding of their company. We are delighted with this award and look forward to working on many more exciting and creative projects going forward.”

“The e+ prepaid Citizen Card puts control back into the hands of council residents by providing them the means to manage their social care budgets directly, giving users choice and control over the support services they receive, tailored to their specific needs. Using allpay Ltd's innovative prepaid solutions, residents now have an altogether more enhanced consumer experience and this accolade is well deserved by Bracknell Forest Council (BFC) & allpay Ltd.”
Councillor Paul Bettison, Leader at Bracknell Forest Council
"As an early adopter and leader in the development of smart card technology within local government, we are delighted that the e+ card has been recognised nationally for its innovation. Together with allpay, we believe we have created something truly unique in the marketplace. Broadening the use of the e+ card and allowing people to take control of their personal budgets means that the technology really does add value to our residents. It’s all about choice and we hope the security of the card will encourage more people to take direct control of their personal budgets.”
