allpay staff run up huge donation for St Michael's Hospice
Two members of the St Michael’s Hospice team joined allpay staff at their headquarters in Herefordshire for tea and cakes to celebrate an energetic fundraising effort.
allpay staff presented the charity with a giant cheque for the fantastic amount of £1062.50 which was raised by a staff team of sponsored runners who took part in the St Michael’s Hospice Half Marathon and Fun Run on 17th May.
Tony Killeen, allpay MD, showed off his passion for fitness and joined in the fun, running the half marathon in just 1 hour and 48 minutes!
allpay already has strong links with the local charity with whom they have worked in partnership on new innovation, the allpay Giving Card. The Giving Card is one of the most effective ways to make regular cash donations to St Michael’s as it increases the value of a donation by 28% through Gift Aid. It costs no more to the donator (as long as they are a tax payer), and was promoted at the event through corporate sponsorship from allpay.
Annie Ransome (Events & Community Fundraising Assistant) and Samantha Stubbs (Communications Assistant) from St Michael’s Hospice joined the company’s famous Happy Hour to receive the donation whilst enjoying a cream cake and speciality hot drink at allpay’s main restaurant.
Rebecca White, Marketing Communications Manager at allpay commented: “We’re really proud that our staff raised such a fabulous amount of money. They’re always so keen to get involved with charity fundraising activities such as this. It’s great to be able to give something back to the local community and strengthen our ties with St Michael’s.”
