allpay is to be the first major sponsor of the GB Tchoukball team in the forthcoming European Tchoukball Championships this August.
The tournament, which is being held at thePoint4 at the Royal National College for the Blind, between 27th and 29th August, will see countries including Switzerland, Germany and Poland go head-to-head in an up and coming sport, described as a cross between handball and volleyball.
Not only is allpay sponsoring the GB team, it is also funding the development of Tchoukball equipment so it can be adapted for the use of the visually impaired. The world's first ever demonstration of blind Tchoukball will début at the tournament.
In addition to supporting the European Championships and sponsoring Team GB, allpay will be helping the Tchoukball Association of Great Britain (TAGB) introduce Tchoukball to more schools across Herefordshire and the rest of the country.
Phil Moore, Executive Director of the TAGB, said:
It's both an honour and a forward leap for Tchoukball to have allpay as our first ever major sponsor. Having them on our side means that we can now really start working closely with schools to get more young people playing and enjoying Tchoukball. Europe’s best teams are coming to Hereford at the end of August so there's never been a better time to come and find out about Tchoukball, cheer on Team GB, and even have a go yourself.
Nick Peplow, Marketing Director at allpay comments:
At allpay we are all about inclusion. So to come across a sport that is trying to include men and women of all ages and abilities is just great, and something that we just had to get involved with and support.
The event is free to attend, and TAGB will be offering a free lesson with their top coaches. To find out more and register your interest, visit www.tagb.org.uk
